Learn to tie a Kreelex Minnow!

Jack Bartell will demonstrate a Kreelex Minnow pattern.

This fly, first developed by Chuck Kraft, has been around for a long time, and is often overlooked by streamer enthusiasts everywhere due to its simplicity. Regardless of its simplicity, this is a proven producer for Trout and most all Texas Hill Country Warm Water species.

This fly will be an imitation of a minnow.

GOODFLY INC. NEEDS YOUR SPARE FLIES

The GoodFly Organisation is in needs your spare bass and panfish flies to for their Spring and Summer Fly Workshops.  At the end of each teaching session attendees are given a small filled flybox to begin their fly fishing journey.

At least 150 flies per workshop are used so they easily giveaway more than 1000 flies  per season. A good place to begin is to go through your own fly box and donate any flies you know you will never fish. Or you may ties a couple of dozen flies just for this project.

All fly donations are greatly appreciated. Your contribution may be dropped off at any THCFF fly tying session or mail them to:

Notes from Jack Bartell, THCFF fly-tying leader

"I'm an avid fly angler and fly tier. I especially enjoy tying flies designed for our Hill Country waters by local friends and fly fishers. And even more, enjoy fishing these flies for native fish. Our Club sponsors the "3rd Thursday" fly-tying night in Waring, TX (only a few hundred yards from the Guadalupe River). I hope to see you there.
