Fly Tying Night  - Thursday Jan 18 - "Third Thursday Monthly"
7:00-9:00 pm @ the Volunteer Fire Station, Waring TX 78074 (third building on the right)

Hill Country Area Fly Tiers' Get Together.

All area fly tiers are invited to attend the first "third Thursday" monthly fly tying night hosted by Tier Jack Bartell of Texas Hill Country Fly Fishers.

Any interested tiers whether new, novice, or experienced are all welcome to a part of this THCFF Club sponsored event.  The emphasis is on learning and teaching.

Lease Manager Don Anderson will be available to answer all questions you might have regarding the THCFF 2024 Trout Lease.

The first night will be an “open tying night”. All club members are invited to come and tie together and any experienced members will be encouraged to help any new tiers who come.

All club members are encouraged to donate any materials that they are willing to donate to the club to build a stock of materials for use at the tying nights. Also, any extra vises, and tools will be greatly appreciated for donation. Anything will help.

Subsequent tying nights will still be “open tying” nights, but a short lesson on a “fly of the night” will be provided by a club member at the beginning of the night allowing members to learn new flies, ask questions if needed, and tie the fly they learn if they would like. The fly of the night could be a well known basic fly, or whatever the instructor selects to teach.

Basic instruction and assistance for beginners will always be available for new tiers at each tying night.

If any members attending could RSVP so that a headcount could be obtained, that would be appreciated. Tiers should try and bring their own vise, and tools if possible. Club owned vises and tools should be provided but should be reserved for those that don’t have vises available to them.

If anybody has extra vises and tools for new tiers to borrow for the night, that would be helpful as well.

Donations of $ and tying materials is appreciated.  We are building a "war chest" for fly tying materials for this regular monthly event.

Thanks,

Jack Bartell
