Fly Tying & Club Meeting - SATURDAY June 4 - "First Saturday"

Dietert Center - 451 Guadalupe St., Kerrville TX

MEET & GREET - 9:30 am | PROGRAM - 10:00 am

  • Meet & Greet
  • Short session regular club business
  • First of a regular learning series of fly tying sessions.
  • If you have got a fly tying vice and gear, bring it

The beauty of understanding the art of fly tying is that if you do not tie flies for yourself, you can still learn what flys fish like to eat and why.  Fly tying is just as much a study of river biology as it is the skill of creating artificial bait.

This meeting we are planning a tying session/ activity for the club meeting. We will have a group of people that currently tie, they will bring a vice and materials and demonstrate some of their local favorites and then instruct/ coach anyone interested in learning. Experienced tiers will enjoy helping others to learn.

This first tying session will give new tiers some knowledge of local warm water flies.  It will also give you an opportunity to try your hand at tying a fly or two, you may pick up a new dimension to your fly fishing!
