THCFF LEASE 2024 MEMBERS and GUESTS REGULATIONS 

  • Changes to lease access: Lease Members will be notified in advance by email for lease news, important dates, or changes.  It is the responsibility of all leaseholders to stay informed and respond accordingly.

    The THCFF Fishing Manager or THCFF board may revoke the Lease Access Privileges of a lease member at any time for blatantly disrespecting or not following lease rules or rules of good conduct. Appeals can only be executed through a panel comprised of the THCFF Fish Manager and Board of Directors. Decisions are final.

    1.    ACCESS: Only THCFF leaseholders and accompanied guests may fish the THCFF Trout Leases.  You must have a valid Texas Fishing License to fish any THCFF Lease.  Lease Access is granted solely for day fishing and no other purpose. Leases close 30 minutes after sundown. The lease season runs from one week after trout stocking to the newsletter-announced lease closure date, which is about April 30, 2024. 

    2.    Lease Members will abide by the laws and rules of the State of Texas, TPWD, THCFF, and Landowners.  Strictly no pet animals, camping, or open fires on a lease property. Surveillance Cameras will be used to help monitor lease property.

    3.    SIGN-IN/OUT POLICY FOR ALL LEASES

    a.     YOU CAN SIGN UP FOR ONLY ONE LEASE AREA AT A TIME
    b.     CRABAPPLE has 7 Beats or 3 Areas
      • AREA 2 - Upper 2, Lower 2
      • AREA 3 - Upper 3, Middle 3, Lower 3
      • AREA 4 - Upper 4, Lower 4
    ONLY FISH IN THE BEATS WHERE YOU ARE SIGNED IN!– this may be 1 OR 2 ADJACENT BEATS, PLEASE. I.E. Crabapple Area #2 has two beats- Upper 2 and Lower 2, so. Either Upper #2 or Lower #2 or Both Upper & Lower #2= one AREA.  
  • c.     TECABOCA has 5 AREAS ( 1, 2, 3, 4, 5), so sign up for only one AREA at a time.
   2.     LEASE HOURS: Usually open 7 days with limited exceptions.  Special closures exist:
      • a.     Monday 4:00 PM.  Leases close for MONDAY 4:00 PM for fish feeding.
      • b.     Catch 2-Bob Henke Tournament. TBD Saturday closure for the tournament.
   3.     LEASE SIGN/OUT SHEETS
    • a.     The Sign/Out Sheet shows which persons may fish in an “Area” at any one time.  Morning lease sign-ins are good for ½ day ending at 12:00 noon and you must leave the AREA.  If you wish to also fish in the afternoon, you can re-sign but only to an available AREA.

    • b.     Both members and guests must sign in and out to prevent others from their fishing area.
    • c.     A sign-in sheet is located: in BOOK BOX at Crabapple Area #2 Entrance and in the Mailbox on a tree at Tecaboca parking area.  GATE CODE 6032 (Security code changes may occur - Read your emails)
    • d.     MAPS LOCATED AT EACH LEASE SIGN-IN BOX
   4.     BARBLESS HOOKS
    • a.     Fly Fishing with barbless or hooks with hooks bent down barbs is mandatory. Barbless hooks minimize fish damage and prolong the useful life of the 2024 fishery.
   5.     WRISTBANDS
    • a.     The 2024 Trout Lease Wristband signals other fishermen that you belong on the lease.
    • b.     Wristbands must be visible to other fishermen and landowners whenever you are on a lease property. (hint: keep it with your fishing gear as replacements are not free). 
   6.     LEASE PARKING PERMITS (HANG TAGS)
    • a.     Hang tags tell your fellow fishermen and landowners that your car belongs on the property.
    • b.     Hang Tags must be visible on the lease member’s windshield mirror whenever you are parked on any THCFF leased property. Cars without hang tags will be reported to game wardens.
    • c.     Parking Signs at each Lease list the maximum number of cars allowed on the property.
   7.     FISHING GUESTS
    • a.     Sponsors are Legally Liable for any issues or damages their Guest might cause.
    • b.     GUEST PASSES COST $30. MEMBERS ARE ALLOWED ONLY ONE GUEST PER DAY PER LEASE.
    • c.     GUESTS MUST FISH IN THE SAME AREA AS THEIR SPONSOR IS SIGNED-IN and be in the company of the THCFF Member Sponsor at all times.

THCFF RULES OF CONDUCT WHILE ON LEASE PROPERTY

1.     SHOW RESPECT:

a.  Introduce yourself with a wave showing your WHITE wristband, showing the other person you belong to the lease. 

b.  We emphasize stream etiquette, especially for our less-mobile members and those fishing with children, to allow them to fish in the more accessible areas. If you are fishing, just move if someone less mobile or with children show up.  The most accessible fishing areas are Tecaboca- Area #1 and Crabapple- Upper Area #2.

2.     PARKING:

a.  Parking is allowed only in designated lease parking areas.

b.  There will be two auto parking areas at Crabapple and one area at Tecaboca.

c.  The maximum of number of cars allowed to park is posted at each access point.

3.     TRASH:

a.     Carry out everything you carried onto the Lease.  No trash remaining is the rule!

4.     GUESTS & CHILDREN:

a.  GUESTS must carry a GUEST PASS STUB on their person, showing they are registered on the Lease Sign-In Sheet that day. 

b.  A Member’s child 15 and under may fly fish for free; the child is your 1 Guest for the day and the child must be registered on the Sign-In Sheet. Children must use a fly fish rig and barbless artificial bait without treble hooks

5.     PETS:

a.  NO PETS are allowed on THCFF lease properties, ID’ed Service Animals Only.

6.     TRESPASSING, POACHING, and SURVEILLANCE:

a.  Poaching is defined as the illegal hunting or capturing of wild animals, usually associated with land use rights. The Trout found on THCFF Leases is for the exclusive use of THCFF.  Only land owners, THCFF lease-holders, and sponsored guests are allowed to access or fish the THCFF Leases. 

b.  If you are approached by someone who asks to see your WHITE WRISTBAND, you must show them your band showing you belong there or you risk being reported to authorities.

c.  Should you encounter a lease violator, above all, do not get into an altercation.

d.  Report problems by simply photo’ing the issue with your mobile phone and email the photo and location, date & time to TROUTLEASE@THCFF.ORG.  Alternatively text the photo and info to 2106090225.  The THCFF Fish Manager will take up the matter with the County Sheriff or State Game Warden and Land Owner.

e. Surveillance Cameras will be used to document unauthorized activity.
